Why is FBA changing its fees?
FBA remains committed to providing the high-quality service and fast, free shipping expected by Amazon customers. To maintain this level of service, we periodically assess FBA fees and may consider adjusting our rates to reflect the changing costs of storage, fulfilment, transportation, and customer service. When we need to increase fees, we announce these changes in advance to help give you enough time to make business decisions.
When do these changes take effect?
The following changes take effect on June 1, 2017:
- Update to Fulfilment Fees for Non-Media Standard-Size and Oversize units
- Alignment and Increase in Monthly Storage Fees
The following changes take effect on August 1, 2017:
- Update to Fulfilment Fees for Media
The following changes take effect on October 23, 2017:
- Introduction of Customer Returns Fee for Clothing and Shoes categories
How do I determine what product size tier my product belongs to?
Refer to the Product Types and Size Tiers section above to determine your product's size tier.
Will this fee change affect Multi-Channel Fulfilment?
No. Multi-Channel Fulfilment fees will not change at this time.
Will this fee change affect Zero-Fee Fulfilment?
No. Zero-Fee Fulfilment will be the same.
Will this fee change affect items in the FBA Small and Light programme?
No. FBA Small and Light program (sign-in required, UK only) rates will not change at this time.
Why is the new Returns Processing Fee being introduced for Clothing and Shoes?
Returns Processing Fee is being introduced to better reflect the costs we incur in processing customer returns for products in these categories where we offer free returns to customers in order to help build customer trust.
Why will Fulfilment Fees for Media and Non-Media be the same?
The cost for Amazon to fulfil a media item is similar to the cost to fulfil non-media items. We are aligning fulfilment fees to reflect this. These fee alignments will not take effect until 1 August 2017 to give sellers time to plan accordingly.
Why is the increase in European Fulfilment Network (EFN) fees for sales on amazon.co.uk relatively higher than the increase in EFN fees for sales on other marketplaces?
Fees for items sold on amazon.co.uk and fulfilled through the European Fulfilment Network are being increased to reflect the change in the foreign exchange (FX) rate between the British Pound and the Euro that occurred in 2016. This is the first FX rate adjustment to the EFN fees since August 2015.
