How much does it cost?

The individual selling plan does not involve a monthly subscription. You will only be charged when a sale occurs. There are three different fees applied to each item sold:

  • Per-item fee: £0.75
  • Referral fee: depending on the category the item belongs to.
  • Variable closing fee: depending on the category the item belongs to and the destination of the order.

Your registration is free of charge, fees are only applied when an item
is sold.

List your items

Display your items for sale on Amazon.

Deliver your items or have them delivered by Amazon

When an order has been placed for one of your products, Amazon notifies you by email as well as in your Seller Central dashboard.

You can let Fulfilment by Amazon take care of storage, picking, packing and shipping or you can post your items to the customers yourself.

Receive your payment

Payment for the balance of your orders (net of Amazon Seller fees) is deposited into your bank account, and you receive notification by e-mail that your payment has been sent.

Referral Fee

Sellers pay a referral fee on each item sold. This fee depends on the category the item belongs to and it will be charged on the total sum paid for the item by the buyer, including all applicable taxes and customs fees.

  • For media products (Books, Videos, Music, DVDs), Amazon deducts the applicable referral fee percentage calculated on the item price, excluding shipping fees.

  • For non-media products, Amazon deducts the applicable referral fee calculated on the total sales price (including the item price and any shipping or gift wrap charges).

* Prior to October 9, 2014 the £0.50 per item minimum referral fee for Electronics Accessories / Computer Accessories products only applied to sellers on the Professional selling plan. Effective October 9, 2014, the £0.50 per item minimum referral fee for Electronics Accessories / Computer Accessories products was lowered to £0.40, and it also applies to sellers on an Individual selling plan.

These changes only affect items with low total sales prices. For example, in a category that has a 15% referral fee, a £0.40 per-item minimum referral fee only applies to items with a total sales price below £2.67. Those items will now have a referral fee of £0.40, while items with a total sales price equal to or greater than £2.67 will continue to have a referral fee of 15% of the total sales price.

** Effective August 1st, 2017, the per item fixed fee (from now on called Closing Fee and previously referred to as Variable Closing Fee) will be £0.50 for all Media products (books, music, video, DVD, video games and software), and the referral fee will be calculated on the total sales price (the total amount paid by the Customer including the item price and any shipping or gift wrap charges).

You can use our Web-based interface to list your products. The procedure and information required will vary depending on whether your products are already in the Amazon.co.uk catalogue.

If your products already exist in the Amazon.co.uk catalogue:

You can easily list them one by one using our Web-based interface. To do so, you only need to provide the condition of the product, the price and your available stock.

If your products do not exist in the Amazon.co.uk catalogue:

You can create them using either the Web-based interface. For each new product, you will have to provide product information, including:

  • EAN, UPC, or ISBN code (Optional)

  • Product title

  • Product description (Optional)

  • Image of the product, see our Product Image Requirements

  • Price

  • Available stock and condition

Generally, Amazon first transfers your account balance to your bank account 14 days after the first working day on which transactions are completed. Subsequently, the settlement process is repeated every 14 days.

For sellers who registered to sell on Amazon before 30th June, 2016: The funds you receive as payment for a sale are reserved by Amazon for 14 days from the date the order was confirmed as shipped. Once the 14-day reserve has passed for an order, the funds from that order will be paid to you on your next settlement date, as long as you have a positive account balance.

For sellers who registered to sell on Amazon on or after 30th June, 2016: The funds you receive as payment for a sale are reserved by Amazon for 7 days from the estimated delivery date of the order. Once the 7-day reserve has passed for an order, the funds from that order will be paid to you on your next settlement date, as long as you have a positive account balance.

To receive payment, you must have the following:

  • A positive seller account balance. This means that the amount of money in your account is greater than the amount of fees and refunds you incurred during a settlement period. You need to have a minimum of GBP 1 in your seller account to receive payment.

  • Valid bank account information in your seller account.

When your account is settled, Amazon initiates a transfer to your bank account. It usually takes 1 to 2 working days for the funds to reach your bank account after Amazon has initiated a transfer.

Yes. Amazon’s payment fraud protection helps you eliminate fraudulent orders on your products.

The A-to-Z Guarantee is designed to handle situations where a customer either never received a product or received a product that is materially different from what was ordered or expected. We ask customers to first contact the seller when they have a problem. If the seller fails to resolve the problem, the customer can file an A-to-Z claim. When Amazon.co.uk receives the claim, we send the seller an automated email detailing the claim which requests a response with basic information about the order and the fulfilment process. Amazon.co.uk will then determine how the claim will be settled which may include reimbursement of the order to the customer, at the seller’s expense.

Yes, for sales in categories other than Books, Video and DVDs. Our Gift Messaging service allows customers to write gift messages for individual items or for entire orders, and our Gift Wrap service allows customers to select and pay for gift-wrapping for each item in their order. As an Amazon Services seller, you can make either or both of those services available to buyers of your items.
